Automatic Product Selection
To automatically select the correct voltage regulator or static exciter for your application, please answer the questions asked below by clicking on the right answer.

Please Note: If the SE900, SE350 and SE450 Static Exciter Modules are selected, please read the product introduction carefully to select the correct firing regulator and to see if you will need more than one module for the application.

Is the exciter field or main rotor field full load rated at:

less than 75 vdc

or

more than 75 vdc

or

You do not know

To find out what the exciter's full load rated voltage is for your
generator, apply 12 vdc to the field or slip rings with the generator
turning at rated speed.

Record the ac voltage output of the generator and note what the output voltage the generator is configured for (240, 380, 480 etc.).

Use the following formula to determine the rated full load exciter voltage of the generator:

((Configuration voltage of generator) / (output vac of the generator / 12))*2

The figure that you will obtain will be the approximate full load voltage rating for the exciter or rotor.
