Power-Tronics' products are designed with the electrical generator repair technician in mind. All of our products have been designed by engineers with many years of actual generator field service, troubleshooting and repair. Because we have been there and done that, we strive to make voltage regulator and exciter replacement as simple as possible.

Our regulators and static exciter systems do not require special transformers or added field resistors to operate over a very wide range of manufactures and models of electrical generators.

Because of a special patented electronic circuit, the installer can adjust the regulator to exactly match the exciter field reaction requirements of most generators, regardless of the KW or KVA rating is.

Most of our products are not encapsulated so that each unit can be repaired easily by a technician in case of installation mistakes, equipment or generator failure. This feature saves time, money and aggravation for both the customer and technician.
Our XR series is a Universal Voltage Regulaltor that will fit most shunt field and brushless exciter applications, and that has optional add on modules that allow the voltage regulaltor to be converted into a static exciter!
Use the SE350 and SE450 Static Exciter Modules to convert the Universal Voltage Regulator to a 25 or 50 adc Static Exciter!
For larger amperage application, the Universal Voltage Regulaltor is incorporated into complete static exciter packages such as the SE1500 and SE2000 series Static Exciters. These range from 100 to 200 adc.
A simple concept with a dramatic result!

In 1989, Power-Tronics developed and produced the first voltage regulating system that was truly universal.

This simple concept was that a single low amperage voltage could have a selection of AC input voltages and output DC voltages along with amperage boosting modules that could increase the low amperage voltage regulator generally needed of most generators, to a much higher static exciter amperage without having to purchase a specialized and very expensive custom made piece of equipment.

This concept allowed the replacement of older rotary, saturable and static exciters without complicated equipment and extreme expense.

Power-Tronics' voltage regulating equipment does not use fans for cooling or encapsulated hybrid rectifier modules. All products are repairable and overbuilt for years of trouble free operation.

All of Power-Tronics' products are made in the USA with American labor.
For much larger static exciter systems, the Universal Voltage Regulator is incorporated into the SE3000 and SE6000 series full static exciters.

These systems range from 300 to 600 adc.
